Metropolitan Morons Podcast
By Jamesr • Apr 15th, 2008 • Category: Blog, Features, PodcastsDriven by the example and antics of our friends in the Suburban Super Heroes, three Soundtracksforthem personal in an active service unit in Toronto, dusted off an old computer mic and prepared these fragments of audio for a hostile internet.
Discussion runs from police raids on Toronto clubs and the super club Circa, to the general Queen West “thing.” There’s also rants on a Street Fighter revival, the state of the Gaybourhood, sci-fi with a climate change bent and the problems of chairs at workshops on Marxism and education.
Yes, there is a lot of bullshit chat, and by way of apology the music spills through baltimore club, 80’s electro, some of that eighties dancehall shite, and for good measure there’s some soca via Montreal and Chicago. We’ll never do it again, we swear.

Can’t get the mp3 ta work – I want it, I want it!
Jaysus, Krossie – consider yourself drafted as the Toronto engineer. I screwed up the silly mp3 link in it.
Yeah, I guess I do come across a little aggressive there – but sure I was only trying to get things on track. Christian had consumed too much coffee at that stage.
We did this with a crappy little 9 dollar mic, gathered around a laptop and then we listened to the tracks in real time with me slotting them in direct later on through Sony Acid. Good bit of fun it was and well easy to do as well.
The sound quality when we are talking on that mic is god awful though – turn up those speakers loud and be careful the music doesn’t blow the head off the cat when it kicks in..
An engineer who, above, can’t even spell his own name
