Amidst all this chaos we look at the Muppets return, International Relations with the Holy Z, conceive of a new idea for reality TV programs, and play some music including new music which is nearly 30 years old.

Using a zoom recorder – Krossie and Groove go to a sleepy town in Somerset and end up in a chalet with a gang of 7 who dress in the floppy mad hatter hats of the little people.  Our loveable rogue aliens report back from the music & events they go to in a Butlins holiday camp, this festival known as All Tomorrow’s Parties.  They see bands, strange TV, chicken out of an intellectual pissing contest, interview people after a flash mob Mixtape (CD) swap and ask ‘how was it for them’, attend a lecture on Krautrock and mumble to each other  in a banjaxed state in Bristol Airport.  Enjoy this Special Edition as the Suburban Superheroes wake up in the Nightmare before Xmas.

The spudarchiz of Krossie & Groove are joined by Flossy in the studio which brings a little Zimmerman and stories about sounds to us. She listens to music through her ears and shows a healthy disrespect for the world of music nerdom of which we know nothing. Discussion ensues about the imminent collapse of this planet (again!) Cinnamon society, daytime TV and the idea of juicing celebrities all come into the mix and as if that wasn’t enough up pecks Chickenman. Join these aliens for another transmission home across Space.

A “listening tour” and a “grassroots, organic, community-based campaign” – wow that hits all my buzz words. This Sean Gallagher man is like some sort of Subcommandante Marcos of post-Celtic Tiger Ireland. He’s getting my vote!

Mono is usually transmitted though saliva and mucus — which is where the “kissing disease” nickname comes from.

“The kissing or close contact that transmits the disease doesn’t happen right before you get sick. The virus that causes mono has a long incubation period” he said.

His comments came as parts of the media began to focus on just how close the American president was getting to local crowds on his visit. With estimates of the number of people he kissed rising from 6 to 18, including two children, with as many as 716 possible patients now being tested.

“Obama kissed me!” shrieked one local resident. “He kissed me on the cheek. I’m not going to wash it and I have a husband but he’s not going near that cheek. He can sleep on the other side of the bed!”

As the phantasmagoria of the Queen prepares to exit stage left, we ponder dramatically an Ireland stuck somewhere between the post modern Castle Rackrents of NAMAland and The Royal RM.

EXT: An old court house in a 19th Century Ireland.  A queue of rural Irish peasants are lining up for their vote.

PEASANT

Gud evenin’ sir. I’m here, for me vote or there for them that are about to make the decisions on the faith of the country.

MAGISTRATE

My good man. Let me ask you. You do realise that upon this occasion we are electing an establishment with the power over economy, life and the future of the nation?

PEASANT

Begob I do sir.

MAGISTRATE

But sir, it says here you are a Catholic?

PEASANT

I am!

MAGISTRATE

So you believe that a virgin child can give birth to a son?

PEASANT

Aye! Sure it happened a donkey of mine years ago, not to mention the Lords glorious entrance to the realm of mankind.

MAGISTRATE

Okay. And you believe that a man can be crucified, left to bleed to death and then on the third day rise again and walk among the living?

PEASANT

By god he can yer goodness! Not only walk again but rise again into the sky upon a great big cloud and take up residence at the right hand of God.

MAGISTRATE

And, am I to believe Sir, that you wish to exercise your vote in this coming election?

PEASANT

May it be the faith of God!

MAGISTRATE

My good sir, I must decline your wish – it is my honored believe that you are seven shades of bat shit mental. Not only shall you be deprived of a vote and say in the affairs of the nation, but the clerical vermin that spread this rubbish to control you and your ilk shall be banned before this disease they put in your mind to ensure their own wealth rots your mind further.

PEASANT

But sir!

MAGISTRATE

There’ll be no buts. Seeing as you rely more on your faith in angels and spirits than your own sensibilities, you shall be deprived of the right to ride a horse until you come to your senses. How can a civilised nation allow men that deem every act of theirs to be in the hands of an old man with a beard in the sky gallop across the roads drunk on horses? It’s a completely gross avoidance of responsiblility.

PEASANT

In the name of the Lord sir.  Does this mean you’ll be bringing back Her Majesty as well?

SSH 15: Don’t Look Back In Ongar.

The Superheroes find themselves even more Suburban when they are teleported to Planet Ongar, far far away from Groovetown studios where they normally transmit their broadcasts home. Here they meet up with their host Nora Bam who brings them on a chronological journey back to 80′s Dublin and tells us about being on Craggy Island. They conduct an interview with Bruce Lightyear, a Space Ranger who attempts to determine if they are friend or foe, Krossie rails against the army of I clones that he thinks an earthling has created, and they introduce another superheroe to the show in the form of Chicken Man.
